It all started when…

As a kid in high school, I had to do one of those “what is your ideal career?” type questionnaires. The answers totally fascinated me as I reacted by saying, “You mean I can be on the radio, as a job!?!?”

So after 20 years of being in the radio business as a Commercial Producer and a Voice-Over Artist, I decided it was time I struck out on my own.

Born and raised in Vancouver to immigrant parents, I was told to stay quiet, even when we were laughing, and not ruffle any feathers. I wasn’t allowed to have a voice and craved for someone to speak to.

Today, I give underrepresented individuals and organizations the self-confidence with their voice to build a community of belonging, because I felt that I didn’t have one growing up.

My little family now lives in beautiful Victoria, BC, Canada and have been living the island lifestyle since 2001. Although I work with clients all over the world, here is where I live, work, and play on the unceded territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples. I invite fellow settlers to visit native-land.ca to learn more about the Indigenous territories that we are on.

There’s nothing about “in my spare time” as I believe that all creative aspects of my personal life help me recharge and be motivated for my work life. Everything is intertwined; knitting, sewing, and creating a great meal from scratch (usually Chinese or Asian food!!), are different ways that keep my creativity flowing to fuel my business work, all at the same time.

When I’m not at my sit/stand desk doing the podcasting thing, I love to get outside on my adult trike exploring the great outdoors and what this vast region offers.

I’m passionate and driven, and love to work with creativity, laughter, and with those who don’t always take themselves too seriously. Whether launching, editing or managing a podcast, one-on-one voice coaching, or allowing me to serve as your voice as a voice-over artist…

I’ve got you

Come Say Hello!

Contact me today to see how I can amplify your voice to have the self-confidence to share your message through podcasting, voice coaching or allow me to be your voice.  Perhaps you want to drop me a note about your latest knitting, sewing, or food-related find!  I’d love to hear about it!

Meet the Team!

Although Organized Sound started out as a one-woman show, your podcast is now developed by a team of talented humans from Canada. I love supporting local talent by mentoring and collaborating with those who align with my same values. We make sure your podcast is produced with the highest integrity and alongside the same enthusiasm that I have!

Audio Editors

Danelle Cloutier

Creating connection through authentic, vulnerable conversations, Danelle feels humbled knowing that none of us is alone and that we all have more in common than we think. As a queer and non-binary person, they value supporting people through the audio landscape helping to give a voice to underrepresented people.

When not being nerdy over recognizing what certain words look like in sound as a waveform, they’re also producing their own podcast Stranger Than Usual, which takes listeners to exceptional places around the world. From war bunkers in Germany to Vancouver’s first morgue, their podcast shares stories of people in spaces of historical and cultural significance.

Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Danelle has travelled the world with her audio editing skills.

Emily Chiarvesio

The podcasting platform inspires Emily, with its ability to showcase voices and perspectives that aren’t always heard in the mainstream media, as well as the niche topics and creativity that the world of podcasting allows.

Emily loves having the opportunity to do work that she enjoys while supporting women in business and other industries! It’s fulfilling to use her audio skills to help people in their work and achieve their goals.

You’ll find Emily in Toronto, Ontario with her guitar when she’s not behind the audio editing desk.

Katie Pagacz

As a fellow audio nerd, Katie loves running the de-click plugin across an audio clip and watching the count on “clicks repaired” go up. Oh, and bouncing that polished, finalized audio from her session – who doesn’t love a good before/after!?!

What first inspired Katie in this work was in college during an audio-only narrative group assignment in the mandatory first-year sound class. As she says, she was “not a particularly nice group member to work with” because she was so inspired to do everything herself! From writing the script to directing the vocal talent to editing the whole thing together, sound effects and all – but she still thinks the final product is a masterpiece!

Outside of editing audio, Katie cannot live without songwriting!! It 100% keeps her sane and creatively fulfilled while living in the greater Toronto, Ontario region.

Post-Production Support

Emily Johnston – Graphic Designer

Emily believes that design can be a transformative medium that can uplift stories, inspire positive change, and help connect with the world around us. She loves supporting compassionate ideas and fellow entrepreneurs in their creative endeavours.

Inspired by heritage and nature, Emily is a Vancouver Island-based designer, illustrator, and the creative behind Artio Design Co. Living in the Pacific Northwest, she has a great appreciation for the wild landscape she calls home. As a creative with Kwakwaka’wakw roots, her family’s connection to this land encourages her curiosity about our collective impact and how she can help create a brighter tomorrow.

Outside of design, Emily is likely to be found exploring the local hiking trails, birdwatching, or working on a string of art projects. She’s also fond of big bear hugs, playful puns, and her never-ending collection of house plants!

Kristalee Forre – Post-Production Assistant

Being a musician herself, Kristalee always knew she wanted to work in the sound production industry somewhere. After years of searching for her place in the corporate world, she began to turn back to her creative side and created her own path – the founder of Forre You VA.

Learning the behind-the-scenes of podcast production has been an absolute dream. Her favourite part is constructing something that not only promotes the episode, but can inspire the listener to click play!

Kristalee always has a good strong cup of coffee at hand alongside her dog Tennessee (she’s the assistant to the assistant) who live and play in Regina, Saskatchewan, although the west is calling her name.

Shannon Kirk – Writer

Having spent close to a decade in the realm of content creation, Shannon collaborates with female entrepreneurs in a way that’s improving information delivery and inspiring women. After completing her journalism degree, she worked first as a freelance writer and editor, and then as a content manager for a digital publishing company, learning the ins and outs of web content strategy.

With a good pen beside her keyboard for handwritten notes, Shannon is the wordsmith behind Right Words Studio who writes the show notes, blogs, and newsletters. She loves that in preparing pieces related to podcast episodes, she gets to both hear so many fascinating ways of thinking about the world and think about them deeply while writing.

In her spare time, she’s likely to be found baking, studying for her next fitness certification, or nose-deep in the latest fantasy novel in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.
